Rob Greenberger has been Executive Director of SYJCC since March 2015. Prior to this appointment, he had a successful 22-year career developing, implementing and administering programs as Vice President of Family Services and Long Island Regional Operations for FEGS Health & Human Services. He is regarded as a regional leader in the Jewish community and in disaster relief and welfare reform issues. He has also served on governmental commissions, task forces and regional coordinating entities. Rob is a NYS licensed Clinical Social Worker. He received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, a Master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York. Rob and his family live in Smithtown.
As Chief Operating Officer for SYJCC, David will provide program management, oversight and strategic planning leadership designed to continually improve our members' experiences. With 30 years of experience in the community, health, and educational services sectors, David brings a wealth of experience designing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating a broad range of programs which will help catapult to the next level of service provision.
Associate Executive Director
Marci Sherman holds a BS in Elementary Education and an MSW from Adelphi University. She began her career as a camp unit head and has loved every minute of her 29 years at the SYJCC. In her spare time, you can find Marci cheering from the soccer sidelines. Ext. 105
Director of Development
Shawn Hirst is the Director of Development at SYJCC. She is responsible for developing the organization's strategy for fundraising, marketing & public relations. Shawn brings with her 15+ years of experience in the non-profit sector, specifically in the community service world. Prior to joining SYJCC, Shawn was the executive director of Patchogue-Medford Youth and Community Services, an organization that provides a range of social, recreational and educational services to children, adults and families. In her tenure there, she led the organization through a period of unprecedented growth and expansion in service delivery and reputation. Prior to Patchogue-Medford Youth and Community Services, Shawn provided case management, counseling, professional development trainings and other services in various health and human services and JCC agencies. Hirst received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University and her Master’s degree from Adelphi University.
Nancy Briel has worked for SYJCC for more than 17 years. She spent the first 15 years as the Aquatics Director & is currently the Membership Director, Director of Kamp Hope, & organizes the Golf Classic, the Shana Kay Memorial Run, & other fundraising events. Nancy holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education from Towson University. She spends most of her free time with her three children. Ext. 118
Director of Senior Services
Tina Block, Adult Services Director, is a licensed Social Worker with over 30 years’ experience working with individuals, groups & organizations. She has extensive experience working with children, developmentally disabled adults, adults & seniors. For the past 20 years she has worked with seniors & caregivers in nursing home settings & in the community, providing case management, entitlement assistance, information, referrals & individual counseling. She also coordinated health care services, designed group educational & volunteer programs, worked with community coalitions to improve services for seniors & supervised masters-level social work students. Communications & Marketing Associate
Emily Fagan started working at the SYJCC in 2016 as the Communication & Marketing Associate. She holds a BA in Media Studies from Quinnipiac University. When not at the SYJCC, Emily enjoys reading, going to the movies, and cooking (especially pizza). In another life, she believes she was a paleontologist because she loves dinosaurs and wishes Jurassic Park was a real place. Ext. 138
Kaitie Brown began her career at the JCC as a swim instructor, over the past 10 years she has become the Director of Aquatics & Co-Director of Camp Wonderland. She has recently become a dog mom and is a mermaid at heart spending her time away from the office at the beach!
Executive Assistant/Office Manager
Jodi Deitch, SYJCC’s Executive Assistant & Office Manager has been the “go to” person for the past 23 years. She provides administrative support for members & staff. In her free time, Jodi likes to travel, cook & take long walks. Ext. 111
Director of Butler Special Needs/Camp Wonderland
Liz Haft is excited to join the team at the SYJCC as the Director of Special Needs & Camp Wonderland. She has earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from LIU, with specializations in Mental Health Counseling & School Counseling. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor & a Certified School Counselor for students grades K-12. Liz looks forward to working with all our families, both at camp & during the school year. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling & cooking. Ext. 142

Ron Hayden, Director of Special Projects & Day Camps, has been with the SYJCC team for 21 years. When not at SYJCC, he enjoys the outdoors, watching NY sports & spending time with his wife & two children. Ext. 120
Director of Buildings & Grounds
Ron Klemm, Director of Buildings & Grounds, has been an integral part of the SYJCC for 33 years. He has a Liberal Arts Degree & is certified in commercial boiler maintenance. He is also proficient in temperature-controlled environments in commercial buildings. His passions are antiques, art & dog training. Ext. 110

Angela Mouquin, Associate Director of Early Childhood Services, has been a part of the SYJCC family for the past 23 years. She has Business Degree & enjoys traveling, boating & spending time with her family. Ext. 135
Rebecca Oyer is the newest SYJCC staff member & has a master degree in Recreation & Outdoor Education from SUNY Cortland. Previously, Rebecca was the Education Manager at the Teddy Roosevelt Sanctuary & worked in camping for the YMCA of Greater New York. Rebecca is excited to join The SYJCC team as the Kidsplace & Camp Director. Ext. 129
Sharon Reichman, Director of Transistional Family Services, has been a part of the SYJCC community for close to 20 years, first as a Y member & then as a staff person. Her three children have all grown up at SYJCC, having attended programs such as Mommy & Me, the nursery school & camp. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Sharon, her husband Steve, & dog Ollie are adjusting well to their "empty nest," although they unabashedly look forward to their children's visits! Ext. 139/147
Managing Director of Theater Arts Program
Rochele Seskin has served as the Artistic Director of the Theater Arts Center at the SYJCC since 2013. In August 2016, she also became Managing Director of The Theater Arts Center. She came to the SYJCC after touring the world as an actress and working as a talent agent and casting director. She founded Cabaret Kids in 2001. Rochele holds a BFA in Acting from Adelphi University. Ext. 162
Aquatics, Fitness, & Sports Director
Seth Sherman, Fitness & Aquatics Director, has over 30 years of senior management experience in the commercial fitness industry. He holds a BS in Physical Education as well as an MA in Sports Management/Athletic Administration. His passion is to help young athletes develop their skills & help all populations lead healthy long lives. Ext. 125
Director of Center for Jewish Living
Bat-Sheva Slavin has been involved in Long Island Jewish community events & outreach programs for over 40 years. Her involvement brought her to the SYJCC over 20 years ago to become the founding curator of the Helene & Alan Rosenberg Jewish Discovery Museum, as well as Director of The Center for Jewish Living & Learning. Director of Administration- Early Childhood
Donna Smiroldo is the Director of Administration for early childhood. She holds a degree in business with a minor in accounting. Before coming to the Suffolk Y JCC 11 years ago, she worked in cost accounting and finances in a corporate environment. Ext. 115
