Personal Training is available for all members of the SYJCC.  Sessions are available at a reasonable price:

Personal Training ensures that your workouts will be safe, efficient & help lead toward your individual goals.  Our certified trainers are extremely knowledgeable, supportive, & motivational.

Beginner Sharks Swim Clinic

Program Description: This new 8-week program is an introduction to water polo for children ages 7 – 10. Join our inaugural class at a fraction of the cost. To be eligible to participate, children should be able to: back float, tread water & front crawl. Our coaches will conduct free evaluations.

Jr. Sharks: A non-competitive swim program for children that will enhance their skills while becoming familiar with the competitive aspect of the sport. All swimmers are required to attend two practices per week.
Sharks: A competitive swim program for children that will enhance their skills, practices good sportsmanship & develop a positive work ethic. All swimmers are required to attend a minimum of three practices per week.

AMERICAN RED CROSS PROGRAMS

Lifeguard Crash Course
Ages: 15 yrs. +
Dates: June 17th 9am-6pm, June 20th 5-9:30pm, June 22nd 5-9:30pm, June 24th 9am-6pm
Program Description: Attendance at all four classes is mandatory to receive certification.
Eligibility: All participants must be 15 yrs of age by the completion of the course. Proof of age is required at the time of preliminary swim test. All participants must pass a preliminary swim test to be eligible for the course: 300 meters of freestyle or breaststroke, 20 meters of approach stroke, demonstration of surface dive & retrieval of 10lb. brick & return to the other end of the pool. Certification requirements are to attend all classes, pass CPR & First Aid exam, become proficient in all lifeguarding skills & achieve a score of 80% on a written exam.

Lifeguard Review Course
Ages: 15 yrs. +
Dates:  June 10th
Time: 8:30am-6:00pm
Program Description: Attendance at both classes is mandatory to receive certification.
Eligibility: An abbreviated Lifeguarding course that briefly reviews course information and allows practice of skills and knowledge before testing. Current certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED is required to participate in the review course. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years.

Lifeguard Waterfront Certification
Ages:
15 yrs. +
Dates:  June 25th
Times: 9am-3pm
Program Description: Teaches lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in nonsurf, open-water areas found at public parks, resorts, summer camps and campgrounds.
Eligibility:  All participants must be 15 yrs of age by the completion of the course. Proof of age is required at the time of precourse skills test. All participants must pass a precourse skills test to be eligible for the course: Swim 550 yards continuously. tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs, complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds, Swim 5 yards, submerge and retrieve three dive rings placed 5 yards apart in 4 to 7 feet of water, resurface and continue to swim another 5 yards to complete the skill sequence. Certification requirements include Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate.

In the warmer months, SYJCC members are able to enjoy our 4 illuminated outdoor tennis courts & full court basketball court.  A valid SYJCC membership card is required for entrance.
