Dear SYJCC Community...

While grants and temporary layoffs help the immediate need, the long term need is far greater. In order to continue to provide programs and services to our community, we need your help more than ever.

We are dealing with unprecedented times in our community, country, and world; nothing like we have ever seen before. It’s hard to imagine that a short time ago, we were excitedly planning our Annual Golf Outing (which has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2020), our first annual Comedy Night and were set to bring back the very popular Night at the Auction and Broadway Stars events. These fundraisers are a significant contributor to our operating budget. Without a successful fundraising season, the continued operation of our life changing programs, including the virtual services we have been providing since this all began, are in jeopardy. On a daily basis, we are facing the reality of a very significant deficit. We are doing everything possible to keep our doors open (even virtually), but our cash flow position is currently stressed!

We believe it is imperative that we actively fundraise now, so that we are here for you today and into the future. If the SYJCC means something deeply to you, if you went to school here, if you met your partner at our summer camp, if you receive daily meals through our senior lunch program, if you attend fitness classes here, if your child attends our programs, or whatever your personal connection, please consider donating to our Emergency Campaign. We need your support now!

Stay well and be safe. Thank you for your support and consideration.

TESTIMONIALS

“Thanks to you, I was able to have the delivery of a beautiful Passover Seder for two nights from the Sam Field Y! Thank you so very much for your response and advice. If it wasn’t for you, I would not have even thought it possible. Have a Blessed Seder and Always be well.”

Sincerely,
Rickie

“Amazing job by Bat Sheva…….kudos
I know the Passover story well, having led Seders for over 40 years, but i gave this a watch, a smile and pride that i have been a Y member like ………. forever. Can’t wait for that pool to open again!”

This is the second yoga class that I did with Michelle since the J closed. She is my favorite yoga teacher. Please tell her how much I enjoyed both classes. I hope she does more.

Thanks. Susie  🤗😷

“Hope you and your family are all good
I just wanted you to know David and I just did Julie’s Pound class together at home. Appreciate your hard work with these classes!”

“Thank you so much for helping to set that up Miriam (and thank Kristin for me too). Sallie was so happy to see her teacher that she didn’t say goodbye… she just kept saying “I want more” and pointing at the screen. It meant so much to her to see Kristin after not seeing her for almost 3 weeks! Thank you again!”

“Hoping this finds you and your families safe and healthy. We have been on lock down and so shocked with everything happening – trying to virtually babysit and play with our grandchildren and trying to keep dad safe here at home. It was an absolute delight this morning to do zoom yoga with Michelle! Several of us went online and absolutely felt great since for Greg and i was our first attempt at any exercise other than walking around our block several times a day! Felt so great to be able to think differently for the hour and do yoga with our group! Thanks to you and of course to Michelle!! Stay safe. ”

Please take care, Claudia

“Good Afternoon. My name is April . My dad, and his girlfriend have been attending and enjoying the Senior lunches and lectures and presentations for the past few months now. You have been nothing but wonderful to them especially at this very difficult time. Knowing that they have a “delicious and healthy”(their words) daily lunch and socialization makes me feel relieved as I live in Pennsylvania and don’t get to see them as often as I would like. They have made such nice friends and talk about going to the “center” all the time. And even with the Coronavirus upon us, you still provide them with daily lunches utilizing the most safest of Covid practices. And the Passover Meals were “Amazing”(again their words). We are so grateful for all the services you provide and we want to give back. Please tell me how I would go about donating money you all so deserve to make sure it goes to the Senior lunches and activities department.”

Thank you again for all you do!!
April
