SYJCC Senior Center includes a variety of weekday programs for older adults including discussion groups, entertainment, speakers, educational programs, Shabbat, holiday celebrations, and special events.

SENIOR NUTRITION

Senior Nutrition Program offers a daily lunch for seniors 60+ Mon-Fri for a suggested contribution of $4/meal. All meals are made fresh daily by our in-house caterer Chick Chak Café. These programs receive funding support from Suffolk County Office For Aging

Learn to Play Mahjong

Chair Yoga
In this chair-based class, you will learn yoga positions, gentle stretching, and breathing techniques to help you maintain flexibility and balance. This class is designed for those that need a chair-based class and are unable to participate in conventional yoga on a mat.

Tai Chi for Balance
In this class, you will learn Tai Chi poses and positions that will improve your balance and core strength. This class is designed for seniors and those with a limited range of motion or physical limitations. Chairs are provided for balance and support.

Sit & Fit
This class allows the participant to exercise while seated or standing depending on the individual’s strength and endurance. The class includes stretching, light hand weights, and stretch bands for resistance strengthening and stretching.
