Emerging Artist Development Program

The Emerging Artist Development Program at Stage 74 provides a grant to a recent high school graduate who has been involved with the Stage 74 theater program and is pursuing a career in theater arts, to be used toward the production of a fully-staged musical during our summer season.

With the support of Stage 74 and the SYJCC, the recipient is provided with rehearsal space, our 600 seat theater, and unlimited access to our prop and costume shop; as well as administrative support and overall guidance from experienced theatre professionals.

The recipient is  given creative control and will gain experience in all aspects of theatrical production. They will select and cast the show, set and oversee the rehearsal and production schedule, and engage the production staff; as well as learn how to create a production budget, fundraise and acquire sponsorships.

This experience is a unique opportunity for young artists to get a head start in the field, gaining valuable knowledge and skills one can only get when working professionally in the industry.

Stage 74 at the SYJCC is proud to announce the recipients of the 2022 Emerging Artist Development Award.

Congratulations to Maxwell Friedman and Jaiden Leo Riley!

Max will be attending SUNY Fredonia to pursue a BFA in Theatrical Production overseen by industry professionals. Jaiden will be attending Nazareth college to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre.
