2023-2024 SEASON

“A modern twist on a classic tale”

“You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll want to buy more shoes.”

Simon Schumacher is completely lost after the funeral of his father, a beloved local shoemaker. With encouragement from the folks in the neighborhood, he decides to continue running his father’s small family business. He is joined by Sally, his father’s accountant and aspiring shoe designer. His plans are complicated by the landlord, Ms. Dingle, who is eager to kick Simon out of his storefront so she can convert the entire building to condos.

Simon quickly learns that he is terrible at making shoes. As he falls asleep one night after many failed attempts, he is assisted, unknowingly, by a group of helpful elves. They make the most beautiful shoes Simon and Sally have ever seen. When displayed in the store window, the shoes are all immediately bought by excited shoppers. Simon’s business is saved.

As Ms. Dingle sees her grand real estate dreams slipping away, she begins scheming on how she can put Simon permanently out of business.

Can Simon save his store? Will he ever find out who is making these amazing shoes in the middle of the night? Will Ms. Dingle ever get the Condos she spends a whole song and a reprise singing about?
