The SYJCC offers a variety of support groups for individuals coping with the loss of a spouse or other family member, separation, divorce, and learning how to move forward with the guidance and support of mental health professionals. We also provide information and referral for mental health and other services, crisis management, entitlement guidance, and food insecurity. Initial Group (Formerly known as Widow & Widowers Support Group)

Those who have recently lost a spouse. The main objective is to offer comfort while helping to process and identify emotions related to initial grief and loss.

Next Steps for Widow & Widowers

Those who have completed an initial group (as above) to continue the healing process after losing a spouse. This group may be completed multiple times.

This group is for those who have completed a minimum of two Next Steps sessions, and are ready to explore discussions related to new roles, routines, and activities.

Adult Children Grieving a Parent

For those who, as adults, have experienced the death of a parent or parents. Participants will share personal experiences, process ongoing grief, and explore coping techniques, all within a supportive environment.

Early Stages of Separation & Divorce

Going through a separation or divorce can be lonely and difficult. This group helps participants find a sense of connection and support during this challenging time.

Today’s Woman

Who is she? Where is she from and where is she going? Join like-minded women & explore issues around self-confidence, self-esteem, assertiveness & extending your comfort zone as well as other topics. This support group is for women of all ages and stages and  is facilitated by a licensed social worker and will meet weekly for eight sessions.

On Our Own

A series of facilitated discussions on the single life. Open to singles 55+, divorced, widowed, non-partnered. The weeks will alternate between facilitated chats by a mental health professional and special programming. Followed by a group schmooze time

Butler Support Group 

Being the parent or sibling of an individual with special needs comes with rewards alongside special challenges. Some may feel any combination of
overwhelmed, frustrated, confused, lost, and angry. Get support in your emotional journey. These groups will give you an opportunity to meet with others
and find a sense of connection and support.

All groups meet weekly for 8 sessions, led by mental health professionals.
